Drafting the Work

We learned the content, now we are drafting the work. I decided to choose interviews as my qualitative method in exploring the motivations behind self-disclosure of a Finsta, or "fake Instagram." Fake Instagrams are worthy of study in the mass communication field due to the ambiguity of private, liminal communities on Instagram. As opposed to a Rinsta, or "real Instagram," Finstas can contain suggestive or inappropriate material that would not be accepted by a public or real account.

When I was deciding which method to choose for this study, I chose interviews due to the personal nature of Finstas. Since interviews are one-on-one and may stray away from a set of interview questions or script, I believe it is the most applicable research method for discovering the motivations behind self-disclosing on a private account like a Finsta.
